Spiral Stage Theatre Group is coming about due to the
progressive vision of Founding Artistic Director Patrick Spike. Having worked in
numerous theatres of various size and styles in
Washington, California and beyond and having moved to
the Portland/Vancouver area after completing an MFA degree in stage
directing, ‘Spike,’ as he is known to friends and
colleagues, has been working as part of the executive
staff at Portland Center Stage for the past seven years.
With full understanding that there is room for all types
of live entertainment in a diverse and savvy area such
as ours, it became apparent that there just wasn’t a
company breaking out of the mold of theaters with
patrons sitting in the dark, silent, merely observing.
Instead, imagine the lively art of a playhouse combined
with the
hot fun of a nightclub or gourmet restaurant. The community has been
expressing its wish for theatre that is fun and hip and
lively while still being engaging, edgy and thoughtful.
And while a great deal of the theatre happening in
our area is good, a visit to the theatre isn’t yet that
“experience.”
Audiences are saying “We want the whole package. We want
to be pampered, engulfed, encompassed!” This is Spiral
Stage Theatre Group. This is what we're going to
bring to our area.

Spiral Stage Theatre Group is a 501(c)3 non-profit
charitable corporation registered in the state of
Oregon, is recognized by the Oregon Cultural Trust, and
is a member of the Beaverton Chamber of Commerce,
Beaverton Arts Commission, and the Washington County
Visitors Association.
